The FZE Library program is based on a student-centered philosophy of growth and discovery. Students are empowered to construct new knowledge, create, share, and collaborate with others using ethical and innovative practices. The FZE Library respects the diversity of its population by providing a safe space for all and a collection featuring print and digital books that provide mirrors for seeing themselves and windows for understanding experiences different from their own. The FZE Library is guided by the following principles:

Equity

We provide students with what they need, when they need it. We ensure that diverse perspectives are an integral part of the program.

Engage

Opportunities are available for engaging in inquiry-based processes.

Explore

Curiosity and innovation are celebrated.

Everyone

The library is for all!

The Fort Zumwalt School District libraries serve as a point of access to information and ideas for students as they acquire critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to participate in our democracy. Every student regardless of race, color, sex, national origin, ethnicity, disability, religion, sexual orientation, shall be given equal access to library resources.
